Shoreline showdown in the city

The Shoreline Conference gets little notoriety in boys' basketball with all of the mega-conferences in Connecticut. But tonight, the league's top two teams are on display at Fair Haven School in New Haven.

One of the teams is still one of the four remaining unbeatens in the state. Old Saybrook brings in an 11-0 record in for tonight's 7:30 game against one-loss Hyde. The Howling Wolves' only loss is out-of-conference to Bassick.

If you don't get a chance to see tonight's game, don't worry: the two teams play again next Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Old Saybrook. Other than Cromwell, which has just two losses, no other team is within four games in the league, which means between Old Saybrook, Hyde and Cromwell, two will likely receive byes into the Shoreline tournament semifinals in late February.
