Travelers gets a U.S. Open champion
With Webb Simpson winning the U.S. Open Sunday night, the Travelers Championship can now boast having the last three major champions in their field this week:
Keegan Bradley - PGA
Bubba Watson - Masters.
The last time the Travelers was able to get the reigning US Open champion was Lucas Glover in 2009 when he won at Bethpage Black in Farmingdale, N.Y.
A standout at Wake Forest University, Simpson is currently ranked 14th in the world but most certainly will crack the top 10 when the new rankings come out on Monday. His two PGA Tour wins came last year at the Wyndham Championship and the Deutsche Bank Championship.
