The First Tee of Connecticut held its 10^th anniversary hosting of the New Haven County Classic on Tuesday at Madison Country Club. 

The tournament has now raised more than $500,000, funding in-school golf instruction, group lessons and outreach efforts to community organizations such as P.A.L., Boys and Girls Clubs, YMCA's and Parks and Recreation departments. These programs reach more than 23,000 children each year in Waterbury and New Haven.

New Haven is home to two of TFTCT's 13 in-state learning centers—Alling Memorial Golf Course and The Course at Yale—which serve youth golfers throughout greater New Haven.

This year’s New Haven County Charity Classic introduced the first Inaugural Bruce Guthrie Memorial Cup, in honor of past TFTCT Director and Steering Committee Member Bruce Guthrie, who passed away in June.
