Gleeton, Hedden entering Connecticut Golf Hall of Fame Thursday

Tom Gleeton and Jeff Hedden will be inducted into the Connecticut Golf Hall of Fame Thursday at Manchester Country Club.

Gleeton, a Cheshire native and resident, played full time on the PGA Tour in 1986 and has won more than 70 professional events, including the Connecticut Section PGA Stroke Play Championship five times, The Section’s Match Play and the Connecticut PGA Championship. He’s also been named the Section’s Player of the Year.

Gleeton just completed a quarter century as the head professional at Country Club of Waterbury. He is a past president of the Connecticut Section, has spent many years directing mentor programs for assistant golf pros and was inducted into the Connecticut Section Hall of Fame in 2014.

Hedden, a stellar amateur player formerly out of the Black Hall Club in Old Lyme was the CSGA Player of the Year for three straight years (2008-10), won the Connecticut Open (2008), the New England Amateur (2011), the Connecticut Amateur (2002), the Connecticut Mid-Amateur (2002, 2005-06 and 2009) and the Connecticut Junior Amateur (1980-81).

Hedden also qualified for the U.S. Amateur twice (2002-03) and the U.S. Mid-Amateur six times (2002-05, 2007, 2009). He now lives in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
