Paul Thees resigns
Amity girls' volleyball coach Paul Thees resigned after 15 years on the job and three Class L state championships. Having seen him in action at two of those title games (1995 and 2003), you knew what to expect: a man very passionate about the job, driven to win and succeed.
I'm sure it wasn;t easy replacing a legendary coach like Kathy Symonds, but Thees developed his own niche: he kept Amity among the state's premeir teams and also helped create what is today known as the CHSCA all-star game.
I'm also pretty sure we haven't seen the last of Paul Thees as a head coach.
