Cantlay to turn pro at Travelers
The inevitable finally happened this week as Patrick Cantlay, the world's top-ranked amateur, will turn pro at the Travelers Championship.
Cantlay, who was the second-round leader at the Travelers last year after shooting a 60, just completed his sophomore year at UCLA. With little else to prove in college, the and with the PGA Tour Q School only gaining you entry to the Nationwide Tour beginning with the 2013 qualifying, it seems to be a natural for Cantlay to make his decision now.
And this tournament has had many amateurs turn pro here, like Charles Howell III, David Duval, Justin Leonard and Stewart Cink.
