Peter Metzler of Vermont shot a 3-under-par 67 to come from behind to win the 15th New England Senior Amateur title Wednesday at Rutland Country Club in Rutland, Vt.


Metzler finished with a two-round total of 142. Don Reycroft of Massachusetts, the first-round leader, shot 76 to finish one shot behind. Dave Szewczul of Tunxis Plantation CC in Farmington shot his second straight 72 to finish at 144 and two behind Metzler.
