Golf coverage

Another day, another rain delay.
Almost as the same time as Thursday, play was stopped due to a thunderstorm that moved in rather quickly to Cromwell. Hopefully, they will be able to finish play so the cut can be established and not have to wait until Saturday morning.
At the moment, David Toms has a 1-shot lead on Jay Williamson. Toms has had two top-5 finishes the last two weeks, so this is just a continuation of his good play. We will see if that continues over the weekend.
Hunter Mahan, the first-round leader, is currently in third place two shots behind Toms.
Word has it this could be the biggest crowd at River Highlands since 2002 when Phil Mickelson and Sergio Garcia were paired together in the third round. But the tournament staff does not release attendance figures anymore, so we can only guestimate that it was a good crowd out there Friday.
Hopefully, there will be no more weather delays and the people will come out to watch the action.
