We are nearing the end of the first round of the Travelers Championship and Hunter Mahan, who tied for second place last year, is at 8-under-par through 14 holes. He is one stroke shy of the course record. We'll let you know later on if he does indeed break the record.
He does lead by 2 shots over Chris DiMarco, who posted a 64 in the morning. Yale University grad Bob Heintz leads a group tied for fourth at 5-under which includes Kenny Perry.
Vijay Singh was at 1-under-par at last check, reigning Masters champion at 2-under.
