A tremendous loss. Eddie's passing makes for a sad day in Shelton.

His loss will not only affect the Shelton baseball and athletic programs but Marocco's students at Shelton High and the Valley community, where Marocco's tireless efforts with the youth of the area were invaluable. Coach Marocco's departure is too soon. He will be sorely missed from the area baseball diamonds to the hallways of Shelton High.

It must not be lost here that Eddie was an excellent history teacher who also relayed the values and importance of respect and morals to the Shelton students. The lessons I learned from him as a student and later as a sportswriter and now as a graduate student of history will never be forgotten.

Mr. Marocco was one of the most caring people I have ever met. Everyone who knew him was blessed. He was not only a great coach but a great teacher. He saw the best in everyone and gave everything of himself. He will truly be missed.
I will never forget Eddie "the Rock".
