Tommy McDonagh of Norwalk shot rounds of 71 and 75 to be one of the 64 players to advance to match play in the 110th U.S. Amateur Tuesday at Chambers Bay GC in University Place, Wash.
McDonagh was the only player from Connecticut to qualify for match play. John Murphy of Wilton (154), David Jones of Norwich (155), Jeff Hedden of Old Lyme (155), Cameron Wilson of Rowayton (159) and Yale University senior Tom McCarthy from Tolland (161) all missed the cut.
