Brian Carlson of Madison lost to John Augenstein of Owensboro, Ky., 1-up in the third round of match play of the U.S. Junior Amateur at Martis Camp Club in Truckee, Calif.
Carlson  defeated Brad Dalke of Hobart, Okla., 1-up in the second round of the event played earlier Wednesday.
