SCC soccer tournaments
The fields for the SCC Tournaments are rounding into shape.
In boys' soccer, Cheshire (Housatonic Division), Xavier (Quinnipiac), Wilbur Cross (Oronoque) and Guilford (Hammonasset) complete the four-team field. Matchups won't be determined until Thursday. The semifinals will be held next Tuesday at East haven High at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. The finals is Nov. 1 at East haven at 7 p.m. Cheshire swept the season series from Guilford, not allowing a goal. Cheshire also beat Xavier. The rematch is Friday in Middletown.
In girls' soccer, Hand (Hammonasset representative) is 14-0 and likely the top seed. Cheshire (Housatonic) has not lost yet, but did tie West Haven. Only Branford (Oronoque) and Mercy (Quinnipiac) stand in the way of a potential showdown between Hand and Cheshire in the final Nov. 1 at 5 p.m. at East Haven.
