Wilbur Cross decision expected today

The decision on a boys' basketball coach at Wilbur Cross looks to finally be upon us. Finally.

Rumors built to a crescendo late Thursday night that Anthony Hill, the front-runner for the job the past few weeks, will indeed be named head coach as early as today. Hill, currently the Berlin coach, was one of four candidates brought in for second interviews with New Haven Superintendent of Schools Dr. Reggie Mayo last Friday.

Hill had no comment when contacted late Thursday night, but all signs point to him as Jim Reynolds' successor, more than four months since Reynolds' resignation.

What a joke. Jim Reynolds was a class act and this guy is a joke. He's been "asked to leave" everywhere he has coached. Berlin made the playoffs last year and the guy didn't show up for practice the entire week leading up to the game. He's a J-O-K-E. What a horrible disservice these people have done to the kids at Cross

that's why you are anonymous. because you don't know what you are talking about. Everywhere he left gave him a reference for this job, if he was asked to leave. And he was there that entire week, he missed one practice to attend to a his son who was in the hospital at the time. The disservice is how many kids at cross are getting thier education

that's why you are anonymous. He missed one practice to attend to his 3 yr old son who had surgery. And the places that so called asked him to leave gave positive references for this job. The disservice is those kids not having the chance to go to college or for most of them not even finishing high school. Let's talk about that

I usually don't respond to this stuff but I feel that I had to. This is not about Jim Reynolds and I or our coaching records. Jim is a class act and I have tremendous respect for him as a person and a coach. He was always in the fore front of trying to do what's right for these kids and I will do the same. Your thoughts of me are yours and I am not here to change that. I wish Jim continued success at Guilford.
