Caron leads at CT Women's Open
You may not recognize the name - it is the former Liz Janangelo - but Elizabeth Caron can still play some pretty good golf.
Caron shot a even-par 72 to lead by two shots over Sue Ginter heading into Wednesday's final round of the Connecticut Women's Open at Oxford Greens GC.
Caron, a West Hartford native, got married to Jason Caron over the winter and after a second year on the LPGA Tour, decided to stop competing professionally and become a teaching pro at Rock Rimmon CC in Stamford. Caron, a former four-time champion (2003-06) made seven birdies in Tuesday's opening round.
Ginter, the 2007 champion, will be in the final group at 11:40 a.m. along with Jordan Mary Lintz of Great River GC in Milford (75).
