Mike Gramelis of West Haven and Golf Galaxy in Milford shot a 3-under-par 69 to take a one-shot lead over three golfers  after the first round of the 81st Connecticut PGA Championship Monday at Ellington Ridge Country Club.

Jordan Gosler (Manchester CC), Kyle Bilodeau (Race Brook CC), and Tony Kelley (Wyckoff CC) all shot 2-under-par 70 to finish 1 stroke behind Gramelis. Former winner and PGA Life Member Fran Marrello is in fifth place after a 1-under 71 and Mike Carney of Watertown GC, another former champion, is tied for sixth at even-par 72.
