Leishman, Oosthuizen, Weir coming to Travelers Championship next month
Former champion Marc Leishman was one of four golfers announced on Tuesday as committments to the Travelers Championship, set to be played June 19-22 at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell.
Ex-major champions Louis Oosthuizen and Mike Weir, along with Brendon Todd, who won his first tournament this past weekend at the HP Byron Nelson Championship, are also committed to being in next month's field.
Leishman's first and only victory on the PGA Tour was the 2012 Travelers Championship (pictured above). Currently 62nd in the Official World Golf Rankings, Leishman has three top-10 finishes on tour this season, including a tie for third at the Nelson Championship.
Oosthuizen, the 2010 British Open champion, is ranked 38th and will be making his second appearance at the Travelers, tying for 47th in 2012. Weir went 15 years in between appearances, missing the cut both times. The 2003 Masters champion, Weir finished second last week to Todd, who also missed the cut in his two previous appearances at TPC River Highlands.
