Paladino, Murphy co-leaders at CT Open
A pair of young amateurs, Cody Paladino (Timberlin GC) and Brian Murphy (Brooklawn CC) both posted 3-under-par 67s to share the lead at the midway point of the first round of the Connecticut Open at the Country Club of Fairfield.
Dave Szewczul (Tunxis Plantation CC) is one back after a 68. 2008 CT Open champion Jeff Hedden leads six golfers tied at 1-under 69, 2 shots back of the leaders.
Among the afternoon golfers includes Ken Green, the Champions Tour player from Danbury who now plays with a prosthetic right leg as a result of an RV accident. Also playing is Ivan Lendl, the former pro tennis star.
