Hawkes looks for CWGA repeat against Foster

It will be an All-Madison final to decide today’s 96th Connecticut Women’s Golf Association champion.

Defending champion Mackenzie Hawkes defeated Nicole Elliott 1-up while Lynda Foster won by the same 1-up score against Mercedes Large, the medalist during stroke play on Tuesday, in semifinal-round action Thursday at Shuttle Meadow Country Club in Kensington.

Hawkes defeated Jill Tryon in a sudden-death playoff last year at Tumble Brook CC. It will be a 36-hole match play event beginning at 8 a.m. The afternoon round begins around noon.
