Rainaud qualifies for PGA Championship
Adam Rainaud may have fallen short of qualifying for the Travelers Championship for the second straight year, but he has since qualified for one of the PGA Tour's major championships.
Rainaud, an assistant at the Black Hall Club in Old Lyme, finished tied for 10th at the PGA Professional National Championship that concluded play Wednesday at the Philadelphia (Pa.) Cricket Club. The top 20 players qualify for the PGA Championship, which will be held at Whistling Straits in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.
Rainaud shot a four-round total of 2-over-par 284, highlighted by a final-round 68 that got him into the PGA.
