Lyman Orchards recognized for "Design Excellence"
The Lyman Orchards Golf Center, which opened in June, was one of six facilities recognized nationwide by the inaugural American Society of Golf Course Architects (ASGCA) Design Excellence
Recognition Program for its work with ASGCA members in
addressing unique design challenges.
Not only was a multi-season practice tee area implemented as a revenue boost in addition to the 36 holes the course already has, but also a nine-hole executive course called "The Apple Nine" was built to accomodate people of all ages to play.
Also, approval from the local Wetlands Commission allowed for construction of less-expensive, pier-supported bridges at various course locations.
