No. 2 seed Lynda Foster and No. 5 Mackenzie Hawkes both won two matches Wednesday to advance to the Connecticut Women's Golf Association Championship semifinals at Tumble Brook Country Club.

Foster defeated Joyce Curran 5 and 3 and Carol Galbraith 3 and 2. Hawkes won both of her matches 2 and 1 over Norma Noyes and Donna Harris.

Here is how the rest of the matches went for the opening two rounds.

The semifinals are scheduled for Thursday (weather permitting) and the 36-hole final begins Friday morning.
