Another Cross-Hillhouse final?

The SCC chose to expand its tournament to let everyone who qualified for the state tournament also reach the SCC tournament - a choice I have disagreed with from the get-go. I think it should have been left as an eight-team format.
Regardless, it looks like we still might get the same matchup in the final as we did last year: Wilbur Cross vs. Hillhouse. Both still have to win two games, but they will be the favorite in both.
Cross, the top seed, gets Cheshire on Saturday and would play the winner of Fairfield Prep-Lyman hall in Monday's semifinals.
Hillhouse, the sixth seed and two-time defending champion, faces Amity, which upset Branford in the opening round. The semifinals would be intriguing, with Hillhouse facing either Notre Dame or Career. Notre Dame has had a fine season, going 18-2 with a win over Xavier. It will be a tall order for the Green Knights to knock off the Academics.
Which would leave a matchup of the two city schools. Hillhouse has something Cross desperately wants and needs - a state championship. Actually, Hillhoue has won the last two, but Cross would be ecstatic to win just one.
In other words, the pressure of not having a title since 1985, along with an undefeated season on the line, builds by the day.
