Szewczul does it again

First, he defended his title at the New England Senior Amateur last week at Race Brook CC.
Then, he came from behind to win the Connecticut Senior Amateur last week at Simsbury Farms GC.
And then on Tuesday, Dave Szewczul shot an even-par 70 to come from behind to win the Connecticut Public Links tournament at Hunter GC. He won by three shots over Ryan Leahey (Orange Hills CC), who faltered to a second-round 76.
Rob Tedoldi Jr. (Tallwood CC) and Manny DaSilva (Blue Fox Run GC) tied for third at 6-over 146 in the two-day tournament, eight behind Szewczul.

Leahey leads Publinx

Ryan Leahey from Orange Hills CC posted a 5-under 65 to take a three-shot lead after the opening round of the Connecticut Public Links tournament held at Hunter GC.
Leahey, who qualified for both the U.S. Amateur and the U.S. Mid-Amateur this summer, leads Dave Szewczul by 3. Szewczul (Tunxis Plantation CC), who successfully defended his title at the New England Senior Amateur title two weeks ago at Race Brook CC, shot 68.
Former Yale University golfer Tom McCarthy (Twin Hills CC) is tied for eighth place after posting a 74.
