Play suspended at 8 p.m.

Ricky Barnes hit his drive off the second tee into the deep rough. The horn sounded before he his his second shot. Barnes opted to play the shot on Monday morning. He and Lucas Glover are tied for the lead and five shots clear of four players, including Phil Mickelson.

Tiger Woods continued after the horn sounded, birdieing the seventh hole to get back to even par, 7 shots behind Barnes and Glover.

Fourth round in progress

Ricky Barnes led by 1 shot over Lucas Glover after three rounds of the U.S. Open but once had a 6-shot lead on the 10th tee. He and Glover are paired together again in the final roun.
Glover bogeyed the opening hole to fall back into a tie with Glover. There is a little light still left on Father's Day, the longest day f the year.

The pair are currently 5 shots clear of the field.

Third round resumes at 11:54

The U.S. Open third round resumption was pushed back from 7:30 a.m. because of more rain being dumped on Bethpage Black.

But the grounds crew has gotten the coruse into playable shape and hopefully, this tournament will be completed some time before the end of July.

Seriously, this will be the first time regulation play in an Open championship has extended into Monday since 1983. The third round is scheduled to end around 5 p.m., then the USGA will re-pair for the fourth round and go off both tees again until play is halted.

Then the fourth round and an 18-hole playoff if necessary will be completed Monday - assuming heavy rain will hold off for the remainder of the tournament. That's a big assumption.
